Galley Basins are manufactured with passivated 316L marine-grade stainless steel, which makes this material both stain and corrosion-resistant. In the event that the passivated layer is damaged, it is unlikely but possible that rust can be transferred to the surface from another metal. If the Basin is installed outdoors in a salt-water environment and not cleaned frequently, in addition to the protective layer being damaged, rust may appear. Rust transfer is derived from a contaminated metal on the Basin surface or from another metal being in contact with the Basin below the counter.
If surface corrosion (rust) appears, we recommend cleaning the affected area(s) with citrine® stainless steel clean + polish using a microfiber cloth or a non-abrasive sponge. Please contact our Customer Service department at 800.375.4255 or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you experience difficulty cleaning the affected area(s) or if you need any further assistance.
